Angels bring Lucy flowers

Centenarian Lucy Chapman celebrated her birthday with a surprise party organised
by friends at Danehurst Sheltered Unit in Brent Lea, Brentford. Lucy's big day also
marked the launch of a new home delivery service by the Hounslow Charity Blue Angel.
The Group delivers flowers and cards for housebound and isolated people who
are unable to get out often. If you can help support the Blue Angel or know someone
who would welcome a birthday delivery, please contact the Mission in Hounslow Trust.

Helping the Elderly

Many elderly people are being helped through drop in centres and visits to sheltered
accommodations. Many come along to friendship clubs each week and have a dinner.
Quite a few of the elderly are lonely and depressed and in need of help. The 'El-Jireh'
is running on a Tuesday at the Hounslow Pentecostal Church and links in with the
local authorities and health centres.

Hounslow Community Transport Minibus The Hounslow Community Transport Minibus has been hired on several occasions over the past few years to take elderly and housebound people out for the day and also on short break holiday to the coast. Quite a few folk have come from local sheltered accommodation units.
